Home … sweet home

I am known as a multicraftual person. I started knitting when I was a little girl. My first breakthrough came in high school when I decided to make a sweater for a favorite teacher. THAT was my first project, other than rather holey scarves. Then I made a lacey mohair shawl for my mother and a sweater for my boyfriend. I was on a roll!

I moved on to sewing and made most of my clothes — except jeans, who could improve on Levi’s 501 button down jeans?? I’ll tellya who — NO ONE! But I made everything else. I took a creative hiatus during college, but as soon as that was over, I discovered SPINNING! I saw a gal in San Diego Old Town doing a demonstration of spinning on an Asford Traditional, using carders to make rolags with New Zealand Merino. I was hooked. I bought a book (The Joy of Spinning), a kit Ashford Wheel and some fiber and spun enough to make a baby sweater.

I have added quilting, weaving, spindle spinning, charkha spinning and crochet to my list of crafts. I have dabbled in basket weaving and painting as well. I have written for Ply magazine on occasion. I love playing music and have rekindled my passion for classical guitar and folk harp. Truthfully there is not enough hours in the day, but I do my best!
